Bathroom Day 16

Back Home Up Next

1/3/00 - 1/8/00

1/3/00 - 1/7/00: We didn't get too much done during the week. Ro spackled and sanded.  I put some sheetrock around the new doorway on the bedroom side. We tested the shower pan - no leaks! We did a major cleanup last night and got most of the tools and stuff out of the bathroom to get ready for the underlayment.

1/8/00:  Today, Ro did more spackling, sanding and vacuuming. Then, we measured and cut the underlayment. Ro used a power drill (!) to countersink for the screws and I followed behind, to screw in the screws. The underlayment made the room look even closer to being finished. I installed the toilet flange on to the drainpipe using molten lead... just like the olden days. The flange is now properly installed for the first time in many, many years. In fact, from the looks of things, I don't think it was ever properly installed until today.
