Bathroom Day 4

Back Home Up Next

12/22/99: Yes ! Even more tear-out. Today, I ripped out the old shower pan that Ro emptied of junk last night, the toilet and some of the old floor. It was a day of discovery as well. I discovered that the idiot (Mr Spackle) who installed our toilet did not do a very good job at all. I discovered dry rot, damp rot, mildew, shoddy workmanship and putrid smells. Mr Spackle also used no less that 4 pieces of plywood in a 4 foot by 8 foot area the last time the bathroom was "repaired." With all the heavy lifting today, and the overwhelming smell of mold and mildew lingering in my face, I am officially calling it quits at 1:00pm. When Ro gets home we'll load up the truck with all the crud generated to-date.

In this shot you can see the four different pieces of plywood on the floor, and another junk pile for Ro.
