12/27/99: We got an early start this morning. We were hoping to get one piece of the new floor installed today. That didn't happen. We did manage to get the old toilet flange off the drain-pipe with a blowtorch and cold-chisel. We removed the old heater vent, and discovered our replacement didn't fit. We moved the shower drain and tested for leaks. (No leaks!). We also removed about 24 square feet of old, smelly, mildewed, rotten subfloor. By the time we were done for the day, we were both wiped out. If it wasn't for the demolition saw and the nail gun, we wouldn't even be this far along. Ro spent most of the day pulling up nails and chunks of subfloor. She also was in charge of interim cleanup. When the bathroom got too disorganized and cruddy, I would take a break and Ro would do cleanup. It's nice to have a "clean" place to work. She also raked up all the debris that was collecting under the house.
