This was supposed to be a short and sweet project, it turned into a week+ and somewhat traumatized the birds in the process. We had to move all the birdies into the living room for a "camp-out" until the room was finished and had time to out-gas all the nasty fumes from the paint and spackle. They are creatures of habit and do not adjust to change very well. They didn't like camping in the living room.

As usual, click on a thumbnail for a larger image.

Here's is before shot #1 What project could be complete without a picture of the foreman?
Here's is before shot #2 The texturing on the ceiling is sanded, and painted - as are the walls.
This is the filthy textured ceiling. It had to go. Here's the new light fixture we chose. It was actually our second choice. The first choice was out of stock.
Step one, mask off the stuff that needs masking. A close-up of the wallpaper border.
The filthy textured ceiling is now on the floor in chunks. All the birdies back in their room. Safe and sound. I think they like it.
The bare ceiling. Time to re-texture with a much lighter pattern.

Note: Ro did most of the work and all of the photography for this project.
