bulletLM75 Temp Sensor from National Semiconductor. 0.5° C Resolution
bulletAT89C51 Microcontroller from Atmel
bulletHA232 RS232 Converter from Intersil (formerly Harris) Semiconductor.
bulletLED's for Status and a Blinkie light (gotta have it).
bullet11.0592MHz Crystal.
bulletMisc caps and resistors.
bulletMicrocode and assembly by Nick McCurdy.

The thermometer can be read through a standard serial port on a PC. The circuit also performs as a rudimentary RS232 to I2C bus interface converter.
