Office Remodel

Back Home Up Next

The year end project for 2002 was to redo our office.
You can see some older shots of our office before the remodel here and here.

As usual, click on a thumbnail for a larger photo.

The carpet was filthy as you can see. This room needed new carpet in a bad way. We have been putting it off because emptying the room was going to be a major effort. (It was.) Not everything that came out of this room is going back in. Some stuff is going to be packed away and other stuff needs to be thrown away.
Here, the carpet has been torn out and the walls have been stripped. The electronics on the shelf is the McCurdy LAN. Even in this disarray, the internet connection must be kept alive.
Here, Ro has patched, spackled and sanded all the holes in the walls.
More spackling and masked off the stuff that isn't supposed to be painted.
The LAN must stay alive, makeshift but functional.
Ro painted and removed the masking tape.
I re-installed the blinds.
New shelf standards installed. Stuff going back on the shelves.
The new carpet!!!

It's a sculptured, multi-colored, deep-pile shag with extra thick padding. It is manufactured by Pacific Queen, the name of the carpet is: "Stormy Sky."  The guy who installed it was very quick, professional, and friendly. (And he didn't leave a big mess to clean up either.)

The old shelves are re-installed on heavy-duty standards. Stuff going into the shelves. There is still much to do...

Recycle or "get rid of" one way or another.

At least the server is now serving again and the comfort level in this room is very high!
